The cone of Abies nebrodensis (Pinaceae) in an unreleased watercolored drawing by Angelina Damiani Lanza. – A watercolored drawing of the Abies nebrodensis cone, the endemic fir tree of the Madonie Mountains, in Sicily, for a long time considered extinct, is presented and commented on. Made by Angelina Damiani, daughter of architect Giuseppe Damiani Almeyda and husband of Domenico Lanza, the first Sicilian botanist who is interested in protecting the threatened tree species.
